Anne and a Dragonfly

A recent visitor to our yard. It stayed, hanging out on our corn for a few hours.

OUR food

It is important for us that Anne and I eat locally produced foods. We do this by going to farmer's markets and maintaining our own gardens.

By growing our own foods, we are able to share in a creative process with each other and neighbors and friends. We utilize two gardens. One in our backyard and one at a friend's house. We have basil and jalapeno plants that are very prolific, so we often don't leave the house without bringing some with us to share with colleagues, students, and friends. Through our efforts, we have a little better understanding of the complexities and difficulties of agricultural processes. Through local agriculture, we reduce the amount of fossil fuels needed to get food from the ground to our plates.
