more tomatoes

renovated dining room ceiling

We decided to take out the dirty cracked ceiling and leave the exposed beams. The ceiling is low, so it gives the appearance of more space. We painted the beams with water-based polyurethane and a mixed in mildicide to keep down dust.

right image: my great-grandmother's rhubarb aka Rheum rhabarbarum and our cat Clementine (lynx point siamese)

I layer newspaper to retard weed growth and mulch to retain moisture.

We have no grass as it requires maintenance. We do very little weeding ad watering.

More rain catchers.
Brussel sprouts, cilantro, garlic chives, oregano, tomatoes and eggplant.

Gohan and Rhubarb

This is one of our cats, Gohan (tied up so he won't jump the fence) and my great grandmother's rhubarb handed down through splitting plants. Gohan is a large cat (11+ lbs), the Rhubarb is around 4.5 feet wide.
Also pictured is a plastic tub and 5 gallon bucket for collecting rainwater during storms so that we can add to our rain barrels. We have 150 Gallons of rain collected so far this season. Rain water is best for watering plants for a number of reasons--one being plants like the water to be the temperature of the air.

Unidentified tree

We have an unidentified tree in the front sidewalk I would like to prune. It provides allot of much needed shade to the front to our house.
